Tibet

TIBET

Located at an altitude of over 4,500 meters and surrounded by the world's highest mountain range: the Himalayas, bordering Nepal.

Throughout history, Tibet has gone from being an independent country to being dominated by the Mongol Empire, invaded by China, and then becoming a British protectorate. Finally, after many wars throughout its history, it is an autonomous region of China.

In the 17th century, the Portuguese Jesuit Antonio de Andrade crossed the Himalayan mountains, becoming the first European to do so.

Its religion: Tibetan Buddhism, led by the Dalai Lama, holds the most power in these lands, both within the territory and in exile.
